dead end?

I've reached my limit.
I asked but there was no response.
Am I just impatient? Should I wait longer?

Pioneer Service School

Mama expressing her appreciation
Papa's turn
This was the last day of my parents' pioneer service school.
This was my parents' dream come true.
Not only were they able to pioneer at old age but they did it and attended the school together.
They were seatmates (and cheatmates, hahhaa)
They indeed set a fine example for us.
We love you Papa and Mama....Congratulations!

new territory

I woke up today surprisingly feeling refreshed after 4 hours sleep. I decided to wear something more formal than my usual preaching outfit. I wore a striped polo shirt and tucked it in my long black skirt. ( forgot to take a shot of myself)
  Ready for preaching indeed!
Our territory was  Baang and this time Josa was my partner. I told her that we go to the houses my brother and I visited before. This meant passing by pilapils going to the houses. Little did I know, the path was very muddy. It was raining these past few days. Oh no! Some areas were very slippery. Well, I slipped thrice. Thanks to the plants for letting me hold onto them, though I ruined a few. Oops sorry :(
Yeah, a clumsy person that I am, you can imagine how muddy my legs were. And, the temperature was very high. I was not a very good sight to see.
One householder was very pitiful that she let us in even though our feet were muddy. (so embarrassing)
Well, the good thing is, the people there were kind and friendly. It was their first time to meet JW like us. They let us in, listened to us, and accepted literature.
Everything was all worth the sweat, dirt and the mud. Josa and I discovered a new place where many interested people live. .
I wonder when we will come back... Sooner the better. I hope it wouldn't rain next week... :)

what to do?

I had decided to apply in a public school before I came to Aklan. It was even the first thing that I did during my first week here. I was successful in a way because I was ranked one. However I didn't get a position right away.
While waiting, I applied in another school where I was unfortunately discriminated. That experience was terrible that I didn't even have the guts to talk about it until now. ( I forgot if I did...lol)
Well, that didn't stop me from looking for another job- and I found one.
I am really enjoying this job.  I am able to pioneer. I love the schedule because I can preach and go to bible studies in the morning until mid afternoon. The downside is I get a few hours of sleep and it's not very stable.
My problem is, I was asked to report tomorrow in the Division Office for my teaching position- a permanent one. That means 8 hours of work Mondays to Fridays, and sometimes Saturday. The good thing is, the salary is very good...and it's a stable job. Once you get in, they can't just kick you out-unless you do a serious offense.
So it's a choice between two jobs... hmmm...

missing the old times

I was checking my albums when I saw old photos. And, old pictures mean flashback. So I began to miss the old times- my friends and everything that we did. Well, I always miss my friends in Cabanatuan.
Why wouldn't I? Imagine the sixteen years of friendship- kuwentuhan, asaran, kalokohan, kiligan, galaan, ukayan and picturan... (lol)
Here are some of the old pics...
First night out with Aneth and Garry... This was the day when she said "yes" to him
sneaked out for a wacky pictorial during lunch break in an assembly (i forgot when)

inactivity

I have been inactive for quite sometime here... I decided not to write or post anything just because this blog reminded me of something painful and I needed a break.
I did a lot of thinking lately. Now, I have come up with a resolution- my new service year's resolution. (lol)

1. Be happy
2. Be happy
3. Be happy

This is what living is all about- enjoy one's life. And I'll be wasting my life if I just keep on regretting things that happened in the past or thinking about people who don't care about me.
  Komera!

sunny day

After a night of drama, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the preaching work. As usual, my partners were Grizzly and Hilary. I think we would be Saturday partners until they are brave enough to be with other sisters. (lol)
Here are some of our pictures for today:

self control

While walking and getting bitten by mosquitoes this morning. I thought about something: I need to exercise self-control.

My mosquito bites were so itchy that I couldn't stop myself from scratching them, and that would definitely result to unsightly marks on my skin. Oh no! I needed to stop my self from scratching. Self-control. "Bear the itch, Bing." It was kinda' mind over matter. And I was successful. After a few minutes, I totally forgot about the itchiness and continued with what I was doing.

So I guess, the same effort is needed with other urges and emotions to avoid being hurt or other unwanted consequences. We can't just give in to all our desires, cravings, and the like. See, if you indulge in your cravings, you'll end up FAT and unhealthy! If you keep on scratching a bite, you'll get unsightly marks. If you give in to all the desires of your eyes, you'll end up POOR or in debt.

Aside from anger, one emotion that's hard to control is LOVE, falling in love. It's hard to shut the heart down. It has no switch. But sometimes, we have to control what we feel to avoid more pain, more self destruction. SELF CONTROL. SELF CONTROL. SELF CONTROL  ( And I need this- a lot)

broken to pieces

She kept it for so long, unharmed. It was the only thing she had. It kept her breathing. It kept her alive.
  ----
Somebody came and took it from her. He promised to keep it safe. Yes, he tried his best to protect her living piece.
 ---
Life made a joke on them. He had to give it back. But that was impossible...
 ---
Now, she had her heart back, broken to pieces.
 ---
  Yet, she stood strong...

study partners

Saturday afternoon is always spent in Bible studies with long walks and chitchats in between. Well, we talk about upbuilding things. (lol)
Who says you can't have fun while you're in the ministry? The best bonding you can do with your friends is the ministry- as you walk, you get to talk, exchange encouraging experiences, look at picturesque sights, take pictures, lose some calories...and the list goes on... (lol)
Here, we were on the way to the next house that's located in the next baranggay (whew!) and we saw piles of stones. We decided to stop for a while and have some picture taking.

    one, two, three....say yes!

Ibajay RPs

These pictures were taken yesterday. I was so lazy and sick that I forgot to upload them.
   anyway....
Presenting.... the regular pioneers of Group 6, Ibajay Congregation.

As you can see, they were all sitting on the roots of Mahogany trees.

Yesterday, there was a part in the meeting that encouraged everyone to enter full-time service. Two regular pioneers were interviewed by Bro. Randy Ilinon, our service overseer. Their experiences were upbuilding- continuing in their full-time service despite obstacles.
They also gave us  a good laugh... (lol)

future RPs

My preaching partners for today are Hilary and Grizzly. I think, I am assigned every Saturday to accompany them in the field ministry. Every week, I see their improvement in expressing their beliefs to other people- young and old.
Today, Hilary placed 5 brochures and Grizzly, 4.

If I have my dogs, my brother has his chicks. (lol) To date, my brother has 15 chicks and still counting....
Rural life has given us different atmosphere, something that we're still on the process of getting used to...

KH cleaning

"Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of armies"- Isaiah 6:3

Holy means clean or pure. Since we serve Jehovah, the clean and holy God, it's appropriate that we keep our house of worship clean and presentable.
Today, we had a schedule of cleaning our Kingdom hall. We pulled some grass, changed the curtains, and cleaned the roof and CR.
Cleaning the hall and its yard gives an ample time to bond with the brothers and sisters. It's also encouraging to see young and old alike work together in unity.
Our Kingdom Hall is now ready for Sunday's meeting and inspection on Monday. :)
